Founded in 2006 by performer Shaboobie Boobarella and musician Blue Morris, The Pink Flamingo Burlesque is one of the few burlesque groups today that have performances set to live “bump n' grind” music -- just like it was done back in the ‘Golden Age’ of burlesque. Kicking off the festival, they look forward to razzle dazzling you with their sultry sounds featuring the vocals of Red. Guest stars this year include Miss Nude Universe 1975, Tiffany Carter (Portland), Mr.Exotic World 2006, Tigger! (NYC) and the fiery Red Hot Annie (Chicago). Shaboobie is known for her theatrical flair, animated expressions and generous assets. She enjoys keeping abreast of new material – both in the burlesque and the fabric sense, and loves inviting guest stars to add illumination to Pink Flamingo shows. The six-piece Pink Flamingo Orchestra will make your hips swing and your shoulders shimmy. They play the music to watch girls go by. The band work under the martini-swilling direction of guitarist Blue Morris and features the beautiful and uber-talented Red on vocals. Instruments include horns, bongos, keyboards, bass, drums, and various other melody makers. This incredibly versatile band will have your toes tapping to traditional bump ‘n’ grind tunes, saucy swing, sexy lounge, rockin' surf, crazy calypso and saucy soul. They feature tunes from the David Rose Orchestra, Bobby Darin, Elvis Presley, Eartha Kitt, Harry Belafonte, Andy Williams and many more. Not only can the band swing and rock, they also like to get into the act as well. You’ll often find them wearing vintage costumes, space-man outfits, skeleton leotards… or just their underwear if the mood strikes.
